Aravalli mountain range starts from delhi(north india) & passes through Haryana, Rajasthan and ends in Gujarat.This mountain range is nearly 700 km long in south-west direction.It is the Oldest mountain rang in india, older than Himalaya.Average height of the mountains in this rang is 1500 metres.
What is the meaning of Aravalli ?
Aravalli is a Sanskrit word made from two words 'ara' and 'vali' means 'Line of peak'.

There are three major rivers flows from aravallis which are Chambal,Sahibi and Luni.There are many famous wild life sanctuary and parks are situated in this range some of are Sariska tiger reserve Alwar Rajasthan famous for tiger reserve, Ranthambor national park, mount abu willife sanctuary, Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary, Balaram Ambaji wildlife sanctuary, Yamuna biodiversity park and many more..

Travelling southwards from delhi, the Aravalli stretches across many places of tourist interests in Rajasthan are Alwar,Jaipur,Ajmer,Pushkar,Udaipur,Kumbhalgarh,Mountabu. In gujarat Polo forest,Ambaji,Taranga.

ALWAR

Alwar, cradled by several small hills, has had a turbulent past.It is today muted by its rich forests and glass like lakes.A jeep ride away lie salim mosque and salim mahal named after Mughal emperor jehangir's given name, who spent three years here.Eight km away is siliserh lake and 37 km away is the sariska wild life sanctuary(inhabited by cheetah,sambhar,tiger,porcupine ad wild boar(Eurasian wild pig).Sariska has an excellent tourist facility.
JAIPUR
jaipur, called the pink city of india, is a major tourist attraction in india. Places to see here include amer fort containing jai mandir(hall of victory), sukh nivas(Hall of pleasure), sheesh mahal(Hall of mirrors.Other must visit places incude city palace, Hawa mahal, Albert hall museum,Jaigarh fort and jantar mantar(the astronomical observatory).
AJMER
Ajmer is a major pilgrim destination for the Muslims of india and other countries, as it houses the tomb of great 13th century sufi khwaja moinuddin chisti.

Pushkar is one of the holiest city for hindu pilgrim centres.In the month of november, it suddenly comes alive with colors,sounds and excitement of one of india's biggest cattle fair where over 10 million people gather. it is also very populer with foreign tourists who participates in this festivals with joy.
UDAIPUR

Udaipur is a city of lakes,palaces and fountains. Its three famous lakes are pichola,fateh sagar and udai sagar. Other places to see are the city palace,jag mandir,saheliyon ki bari and pratap smarak.
KUMBHALGARH

Kumbhalgarh is a fortress town, 64 kmm northwest of udaipur,It houses a palace called badal mahal.
CHITTORGARH
Chittorgarh is the proudest of rajput fortresses, which witnessed bloody carnage and rare sacrifices in past. Monuments here tells the story of heroism and sacrifice of various rajput princes of mewar who never submitted to the mughals.
The fort of chittorgarh stands on the crest of the enermous grey hills, garded by massive walls and seven majestic gateways and within it one stumbles upon shattered palaces and other buildings.It also houses the temple of mirabai-the mystic poetess of 16th century and the Tower of victory which is an intricately carved nine storey tower which looks stunning.near a jain temple stands the tower of fame,built in 12th century in honour of the first jain tirthankara.

Poloforest is very well known place in gujarat for tourism and adventure activities.There are many ancient jain temples and sun temple is there.It has great long trekking routs through hills and forest.It is the dream destination for nature lovers to explore nature very nearly.
